The sensitive and emotional film Jewish Berlin Yesterday and Today documents the visit of 20 members of the UK Jewish community to the city of Berlin. For most it was their first visit to Germany, and a place where they met a new generation of Germans, who were very friendly and welcoming.

During the four day trip to the capital they met local Jews and visited Jewish memorials, institutions and spoke with prominent German Jewish personalities. Among the sites visited were the Jewish Museum, the Holocaust Memorial and the Wannsee Conference Villa as well as the Grunewald Memorial and Touro College.

The film was commissioned by the German National Tourist Office, London (DZT) and produced by Jamie McDine in 2008. The aim of the trip, and the film, was to promote the concept of visiting Jewish Germany to the UK Jewry.
